Dual-language programs are growing in Minnesota. Here’s why parents want in

The ability to speak two languages could mean more opportunities and higher earnings for your child later in life.

That’s why a growing number of Minnesota parents are choosing dual-language immersion programs where children learn core subjects while becoming fluent in a second language.

“¿Cuántos deditos escondí?” asked the teacher. 

“Uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco!” shouted her students in Spanish.

“It’s the coolest thing,” said Thom Bieniek.  “I wish I would have had the opportunity… that my parents could have put me into something like this, because that just didn’t exist, you know, 35 years ago.”
