Brief warm-up ahead of State Fair

Across Minnesota Sunday morning, we’re expecting much cooler lows than we’ve seen most of the month of August. Last week, there were some spots in far northern MN which got into the upper 30s; this time, we won’t get quite that chilly, but the Twin Cities Metro is expected to drop into the mid 50s. Afternoon temps are expected to get into the upper 70s, with lower 70s to the North.

Monday, we’ll begin to warm up a touch with increasing clouds and winds returning out of the South. Late Monday night, a cold front approaches from the west and could help focus a couple of storms across the North. These showers will be very sparse and will likely miss most areas.

Tuesday highs will climb into the mid 80s in the Metro. That heat will linger a bit into Wednesday, but it will be marginally cooler. The low rain chances drop to near zero.
