Twin Cities horse owner Barry Butzow sentenced in 2024 sexual assault case

Twin Cities racehorse owner Barry Butzow was convicted Wednesday in a 2024 sexual conduct case tied to allegations from a private party worker.

Butzow, a well-known member of the horse racing community, was sentenced to serve 60 days on work release.

In May, Butzow pleaded guilty to drugging and assaulting a woman whom he hired to work at his home as a bartender for a cocktail party.

According to a criminal complaint, Butzow asked the woman to return to the home two days after the party to help clean up. They then began drinking wine, and case details allege that he tried kissing her several times, but she pushed him away.
