South St. Paul gas line leak forces evacuations near Marie Avenue

Police and fire crews are evacuating some homes in a South St. Paul neighborhood on Tuesday morning after a gas line was “compromised.”

Around 11 a.m., Xcel Energy officials were en route to the gas line issue near Marie Avenue and 13th Avenue North. A police spokesperson is asking the public to avoid the area as crews work to fix the issue.
