Motorcyclist run over by semi in Cass County

A motorcyclist is dead after being run over by a semi in Cass County on Thursday afternoon.

State Patrol officials said just before 4 p.m., a semi was driving south on Highway 371 in Shingobee Township when it made a “sudden maneuver” onto the right shoulder toward a motorcycle.

The motorcycle then hit the cable barrier, and the back of the semi ran over the driver, State Patrol said.

Authorities identified the motorcycle driver as 30-year-old Roy John Berger from Vadnais Heights.
