Federal funding meant to help support those affected by the Annunciation Catholic School mass shooting has been approved.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar said the Department of Justice informed her that $2.6 million had been approved for the community.
“The Annunciation community has shown incredible strength and resilience in the face of unimaginable tragedy, and they deserve the resources to help them heal,” said Klobuchar. “These federal funds will now be available to support the students, families, and educators impacted by this horrific shooting.”
Funding will be provided from the Office for Victims of Crime, with funds intended to provide mental health and support services for those who were impacted by the shooting. Funding will also support school modifications, substitute teachers and medical needs.
