WATCH: Drone light show honors 9/11 victims with 2,977 lights recreating Twin Towers

NEW YORK — A drone show featuring 2,977 lights recreated the Twin Towers to honor the victims of 9/11 Wednesday night at New York Harbor.

This Friday, Sept. 11, marks the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that occurred in New York City, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. 

Organizers shared with CNN that the art installation named "2,977 Lights Over New York Harbor"  was developed with input from the 9/11 community, including families of the victims, survivors and first responders.
