Starting next week, sending gifts through the U.S. Postal Service will temporarily cost you more.
WASHINGTON — The U.S. Postal Service's holiday shipping price increases go into effect on Sunday.
The temporary hikes apply to priority mail express, priority mail, ground advantage and parcel select. Regulators approved the hikes to help cover the extra handling costs during the peak season.
The higher rates will remain in effect from Oct. 4, 2026, until Jan. 17, 2027.
