Multiple people detained after Bloomington shooting leaves 1 hurt, police say

One person was hurt in a shooting Wednesday in Bloomington, and officers have detained multiple people as they investigate.

According to the Bloomington Police Department, officers responded around 1:50 p.m. to multiple reports of shots fired near American Boulevard and 30th Avenue.

Chopper 5 was in Bloomington and captured the large police response as authorities processed the crime scene and closed down nearby roads.

Police said one person was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body. Police have not released the name of the victim.

Bloomington police said they believe there is no longer a danger to the public.
