KASSON, Minnesota — A Minnesota family is asking for prayers and support after a former Kasson-Mantorville High School football player suffered a severe head injury during a college football game in North Dakota.
Matthew Donovan, a quarterback for Mayville State University, was injured during the third quarter of Saturday's game against Simpson University.
According to Mayville State, Donovan was airlifted to a Fargo hospital, where he underwent brain surgery lasting more than two hours. Portions of his skull were removed to relieve pressure on his brain, according to the university.
