Minneapolis Mayor Frey urges budget cuts across city departments to lower taxes, but faces pushback from the Park Board.

MINNEAPOLIS — Frey says every part of city government needs to make difficult choices to keep taxes down. 

“I asked every department in the city to take cuts, to do some of the hard things to do what we could to protect the taxpayer dollars and there is only one organization that didn't do cuts at all and that's the Park Board,” Frey said.

The Park Board says it has already made difficult financial decisions and that its 5.86% request is the minimum needed to maintain current service levels.
