Minneapolis man gets 10 years in prison for fatally shooting woman over $30

A Minneapolis man was sentenced Friday to more than 10 years in prison after a judge found him guilty of fatally shooting a woman during a dispute over $30.

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office said 66-year-old Raymond Jones waived his right to a jury trial and instead had a judge decide the case. Jones was accused of killing 43-year-old Desirae Argueta-Joj at his Minneapolis apartment.

On July 17, a judge found Jones guilty of second-degree unintentional murder and not guilty of second-degree intentional murder.
