Little Canada man accused of deadly hit‑and‑run during late‑night McDonald’s stop

A Little Canada man accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian before driving off early on Sunday morning will make his first court appearance on Tuesday after court documents allege that he took an Uber home from Minneapolis prior to getting in his car to go get McDonald’s.

Police were called to the crash scene near Viking Drive and Lillehei Plaza at about 2:25 a.m. on Sunday where they found the victim, identified as JDH, lying dead in the road with broken car parts and groceries scattered nearby.

Investigators were able to determine that the broken car parts came from a Nissan Rogue which was located about two hours later in the parking garage of the Grand Pre Apartments.

According to the criminal complaint, investigators noticed fresh front-end damage to the SUV, blood droplets on the passenger side, and multiple hairs on the hood and windshield.
