Former Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf teacher charged with sexually assaulting student

FARIBAULT, Minn. — A 78-year-old has been charged with sexually assaulting one of his students back in the 1980s. 

The victim reported that his former teacher and wrestling coach at the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf had sexually assaulted him when he was a freshman, court documents say. The victim said it happened when he was told to run an extra lap after the other wrestlers left. After the alleged assault, the victim said his teacher and coach told him not to tell anyone, but otherwise acted as if nothing had happened. 

The former teacher is identified as David Arthur Rohm, who now lives in Tennessee. When investigators spoke to Rohm, court documents say he remembered the victim but denied the assault.
