Former Minnesota governor pulling back the curtain with new memoir

ST PAUL, Minn. — Former Minnesota governor Mark Dayton is releasing a new memoir next month, titled "Perseverance." 

Dayton served as governor from 2011 to 2019. Since then, he has taken a break from public appearances, but will be celebrating the release of his book at the Minnesota History Center on Sept. 15. 

Dayton was born in 1947 into the Dayton's department store family. He began his career in politics in 1990 as Minnesota State Auditor. In 2000, he was elected to the U.S. Senate, and in 2009 launched a successful bid for governor.

In a press release, the Minnesota Historical Society said "Perseverance" will provide an "inside look on Dayton’s life and pulls back the curtain on contemporary politics in the state and the nation." The...
