Falcon Heights continues State Fair parking program into 2nd year, citing safety and tax benefits

Falcon Heights is bringing back its mobile paid parking program for the Minnesota State Fair.  

The city said it is doing more than just organizing where visitors leave their cars; it’s helping keep neighborhood streets safer and taking pressure off the city’s taxpayers.

City administrator Jack Linehan said this year marks the second year of the pay‑by‑mobile parking program in neighborhoods near the fairgrounds, following its launch in 2025 under a three-year agreement.

“The city state fair task force analyzed the program and determined a recommendation to the city council that we continue the program. We saw that it helps manage parking in the neighborhoods, creates a revenue source for the city, and overall a better experience for our residents during the fair.”
