Norbert continues to push through the Eastern Pacific. While Hawaii is not currently under a direct threat, residents should stay updated following Hurricane Lowell.
WASHINGTON — Tropical Storm Norbert has formed in the Eastern Pacific, becoming the latest Pacific named storm of the 2026 season.
The National Hurricane Center says Norbert was located about 685 miles southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula Thursday morning, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. The storm is moving west at about 10 mph, and some gradual strengthening is expected over the coming days. There are currently no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
