WASHINGTON — A 20-year-old Michigan man, who recently moved to Florida to join the Disney College Program, died this week after he was fatally struck by lightning, according to authorities and his family.
Matthew Eric Jenkins, from Shelby Township, Michigan, was found unresponsive on a walking path near a hotel in Celebration, Florida, shortly after lightning struck in the area around 6:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office told multiple media outlets.
