The BCA and Hennepin County Attorney's Office announced charges against 4 people, including a former Anoka County prosecutor.

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office revealed new details Monday on a sprawling sex trafficking scheme which includes a former Anoka County assistant attorney among its alleged conspirators.

Four defendants each face 26 felony charges on allegations that they promoted and profited from prostitution.

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said 13 victims helped investigators uncover the scheme, and there were likely many more victims who have not come forward.

“The 13 victims and others are victims and suffered great harm from being forced to be in a sex trafficking ring, and so I want to recognize the courage of the victims to work with the BCA and our office to help prosecute these cases,” Moriarty said.
