After community feedback, Crystal becomes latest city to drop Flock cameras

Crystal Police Chief Brian Hubbard announced that the department has canceled its contract with Flock and removed its cameras.

According to Hubbard, the department made the decision based on community members’ concerns raised over the last few weeks, including at a community information meeting last week.

“Based on the questions that have been raised and the feedback we’ve recieved from community members who engaged us, we have made the decision to end our service with Flock Safety for the ALPRs we have in Crystal,” a statement from the department said.

Crystal police said the city has already taken down the six ALPR cameras and is in the process of returning them to Flock.
