3 men charged after guns drawn at Mall of America

Three men were charged Tuesday after police said guns were shown during a confrontation inside Macy’s at the Mall of America.

According to criminal complaints, Abdihakim Mohamoud, 21, of Burnsville, Abdifatah Douled, 20, of Lino Lakes, and Samatar Abdisalam, 21, of St. Paul were each charged with second-degree riot while armed with a dangerous weapon.

A fourth man was identified in the criminal complaint but had not been formally charged as of Friday.

Bloomington police responded to the Mall of America on Tuesday after reports that weapons had been drawn inside the store, according to the complaints.

Two Macy’s loss prevention employees said they overheard a heated exchange between that group and another group of about 14 to 15 males. Court records state both groups were taunting each other and appeared close to fighting.
